I’ll write about how unions can use Facebook Pages to their campaigns and Facebook presence in general, rather than more limited groups.

The trick with Twitter is to build a following of members and supporters. Unions should probably consider whether or not to follow large numbers of “abandoned” twitter accounts.

You can only follow your friends after plugging in your entire email account into twitter, but many of them will never have progressed past the “hey, im on twitter, lol kthnkxbai” first post. This would be the case for unions.

Twitter needs to improve users’ ability to connect to relevant other users. Facebook seems to have a much better model in this regard.
