350.org and the Day of Climate Action

Joe Trippi has a great wrap of the decentralised nature of this global movement, and the massive organising effort that was mobilised to make Saturday 24 October such a success.

Quoth Trippi:

Issuing calls to action via text message, soliciting photo sharing of actions, and providing real-time updates to supporters, onlookers, and the media, the 350.org International Day of Climate Action exempelifies a new style of organizing.

Organizers and participants utilized the 350.org Facebook group and Twitter stream to provide updates and disseminate information. You can also find an impressive collection of photographs on the 350.org Flickr collections.
